John F Kennedy International Airport is an airport in Queens, New York located 12 miles southeast of Manhattan's business district. It is the busiest airport in the United States and North America with about 53,289,599 passengers in 2014. In 1948 the airport was New York City International Airport until 1963 when it was renamed JFK Airport.
John F Kennedy Airport was built to relieve LaGuardia Airport, which was crowded after opening in 1939. The U.S Government spent about $60 billion.
